Sunday Catch Up

So, I want to do more casual posts that aren’t as important – and thought I’d bring back a ‘Sunday Catch Up’ post, rounding up anything I’ve read, seen, or done this week. I can’t promise I’ll do one every week but I’m hoping it will motivate me to at least try and write something every week.

What I’ve been Listening To

On Friday Deaf Havana’s new album Rituals came out, and as soon as I saw the tweet, I immediately went to find it on Spotify. I only discovered Dead Havana a couple of months ago but they have fast become one of my favourite bands, I feel like their sound is a sound that really means something to me (I’ve always had quite random music taste) and this new album is no disappointment.

The tracks all fit together seamlessly and it’s easy to listen to the whole album as one (something I struggle with normally).

Other single songs I’ve been enjoying this week are Eastside with benny blanco, Khalid and Halsey and Hey Look Ma I Made It by Panic at the Disco!

What I’ve been Reading

In the next week I will be publishing 25 things I want to do before I turn 25, and one of those things is to read more. I want to challenge myself to pick up a book instead of watching old reruns of Love Island or scrolling on Instagram.

This week I’ve started Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (late to the party I know) and so far it’s reasonably slow, but the social work part is interesting me.

I’m also hoping to check out the library where I live, as unfortunately I don’t have the pennies to buy a lot of books at the moment!

What I’ve been Watching

I actually didn’t get the ‘post Love Island’ slump as I gave up watching it! I finally got around to watching QueerEye which I’m now obsessed with.

I like to watch old Love Island while I do boring chores (I’ve watched Season 2 twice now and moved onto Season 3 as it’s now on ITVHub). They are both so much better than the season that has just finished.

My next task is to finish watching Suits as I stopped on Season 6, and the challenge myself to start a new series.

This week I also went to see Incredibles 2 (love love love) and allowed myself to watch all three Toy Stories. As a warning, I’m really awful at watching films I haven’t seen, almost always choosing ones I know inside out. I do also want to see Mamma Mia 2, obviously.

This week I also went into Primark and found basically nothing I wanted, which was a surprise. I came out with a slogan tee and a tshirt from the men’s section, neither of which I needed.

On Monday I had the day off to have the coil fitted (whole blog post coming at some point), and the rest of the week passed in it’s normal boring way, except getting much hotter again, which I am not a fan of.

I have also been eating a lot of junk food in the past week which just never makes me feel great.

I saw two of my oldest and best friends on Saturday and conned them into taking blog pictures for me while helping them shop. And today, I committed myself to making a roast, which I also regret as soon as I start.

See you next week!
